We Believe...

Everything LeClaire Baptist Church believes comes from what God says in the Bible, not our opinions.  We have listed the major doctrinal principles we believe the Bible teaches clearly along with those verses to allow you to look up and see for yourself!

We believe the Bible is the verbally inspired Word of God and is the sufficient and final authority for faith and everyday living.  (2 Timothy 3:16; 2 Peter 1:21)

We believe in the virgin birth of Jesus Christ and that He is truly God and truly man.  (Isaiah 7:14; Matthew 1:18-25)

We believe that all men have sinned and are under the penalty of death.  (Romans 3:23; Romans 5:8; Romans 6:23)

We believe that Jesus Christ made the substitutionary sacrifice of His own life and that all who personally believe on Him for their salvation have eternal life.  (John 3:16; Romans 3:24; Hebrews 9:14, 28)

We believe in the eternal security of all those who trust in Jesus Christ as their personal Savior.  (Acts 4:12; Acts 16:31; Romans 10:9-10; Ephesians 2:8-9)

We believe in the bodily resurrection of Jesus and His ascension into heaven from which He will return to establish His Kingdom.  (1 Thessalonians 4:13-18; 2 Peter 3:10-13; Revelation 19;20;21)

We believe in baptism by immersion as a witness to the true identification to Jesus Christ as our Savior.  (Acts 8:36-39; Romans 6:3-5)

We believe that the church consists of believers who meet for worship, growth, and service to God.  (1 Corinthians 1:2; Ephesians 4:11-13)

We believe in the bodily resurrection of believers (those who have accepted Jesus Christ as their personal Savior) and non-believers (those who have never accepted Jesus Christ as their personal Savior).  Non-believers will be raised to eternity in hell and believers to life with God forevermore.  (1 Thessalonians 4:16; Revelation 7:9-17; 20:1-6, 11-15)

How can you have a personal relationship with God?

Man's Problem..Sin - Man chose to sin against God rather than serve Him.  No good works will make us acceptable in God's sight.  "For all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God."  Romans 3:23 & Ephesians 2:8-9

Sin's Penalty...Death - separation from God forever.  "For the wages (penalty) of sin is death..."  Romans 6:23 & Revelation 20:15

Christ's Payment...  He was our Sinless Substitute.  "But God demonstrates His own love for us in this:  While we were still sinners, Christ died for us."  Romans 5:8

Our Pardon... Turn and Trust.  We must personally receive Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior.  We must repent (ask forgiveness) for our sins and put our trust in Him alone.  "Jesus answered, I am the way and the truth and the life.  No one comes to the Father except through me."  John 14:6 & Acts 3:19

God's Promise...Eternal Life!  "...whoever hears my word and believes Him who sent me has eternal life and will not be condemned; he has crossed over from death to life."  John 5:24
